Lindsay is the largest centre in the City of Kawartha Lakes, half an hour west of Peterborough on Highway 7, and it is a full-sized town rather than a village: a downtown on Kent Street, a hospital, a college campus, and housing that runs from a century-old brick core through post-war streets to new subdivisions on the edges.
